Shop natural self tanners and certified organic fake tan options for a sun-kissed glow without UV exposure. Choose from gradual moisturisers, mousses, lotions, tanning waters and face tans to suit your preferred colour and routine.
Natural and organic self tanners give you a sun-kissed glow without UV exposure, while adding hydrating and skin-conditioning ingredients to your tanning routine.
Many conventional and natural self tanners use DHA, so natural self tan is not the same as DHA-free. What makes these formulas different is everything else they contain. Eco Tan uses sugar-cane-derived DHA alongside organic aloe vera and, depending on the product, ingredients such as cacao, hemp seed oil, coconut water and hyaluronic acid. La Mav uses naturally derived DHA in formulas containing aloe vera, glycerin, shea butter and nourishing plant oils.
You still get the colour and development options you expect from fake tan, from a gradual glow to a deeper bronze, with the added benefits of certified organic options and formulas designed to care for your skin while your tan develops.
Start with the colour depth and application style you prefer. Choose La Mav Gradual Tanning Moisturiser for a light honey glow that can be gradually deepened over several applications.
Choose Eco Tan Cacao Tanning Mousse for a faster-developing medium bronze or Eco Tan Hempitan Body Tan Water when you want lightweight application and deeper, longer-lasting colour.
If you prefer a richer, moisturiser-like texture, La Mav Self Tanning Lotion develops into a buildable golden tan.
Facial tanning formulas make it easier to build colour gradually around the hairline, jaw and neck without applying a richer body tan to your face.
Eco Tan Face Tan Water is a lightweight toner-style formula that can be applied over consecutive days to deepen the colour. La Mav Anti-Ageing Face Tan Serum combines a light, buildable facial tan with the texture and hydration of a face serum.
Certified organic self tan has been independently assessed against an established organic standard rather than simply being described as natural.
Eco Tan and La Mav offer formulas certified by Organic Food Chain Australia. This certification requires at least 70% certified organic ingredients, with the remaining ingredients meeting the applicable natural and formulation requirements. Certified organic does not necessarily mean 100% organic or DHA-free.
Yes. The tanning formulas currently featured in this range use DHA to create their colour. DHA reacts with amino acids in the skin’s outermost layer, producing a temporary tan without sun exposure.
Eco Tan uses sugar-cane-derived DHA, while La Mav uses naturally derived DHA. We do not currently stock a DHA-free self tanner.
Start with a gradual self tanner if you are worried about going too dark. La Mav Gradual Tanning Moisturiser builds a soft honey glow over several applications, giving you more control over the final depth.
For a more noticeable result, choose Eco Tan Cacao Mousse for medium colour or Hempitan when you want a deeper bronze.
Leave Eco Tan Cacao Mousse or Hempitan on for at least one hour. For deeper colour, allow the tan to develop until your next shower.
La Mav body tanning products begin developing within approximately three to four hours and should remain on for six to eight hours before showering. Colour can continue developing afterwards, so wait for the final result before applying another layer.
Exfoliate 24 to 48 hours before tanning, paying particular attention to dry areas such as elbows, knees and ankles. Apply a small amount of moisturiser to these areas immediately before tanning so they do not absorb too much colour.
Apply your tan to clean, dry skin with a clean application mitt, using long, even strokes. Blend lightly over hands, feet and joints, then avoid water, perspiration and tight clothing while the colour develops.
No. Self tan gives the skin cosmetic colour but does not provide sun protection. Apply a dedicated sunscreen whenever your skin is exposed outdoors, even when your tan has fully developed.
