Ask a Naturopaths Raweos

This recipe comes from Sally from Ask A Naturopath:

‘So I've spent a little time in the kitchen this week mixing and playing and creating and devouring goodies using this powder.  Now I admit there were a few disasters such as coconut oil, charcoal and Super Greens & Reds toothpaste, yuk, gasp, nup.  Luckily I didn't let the small disasters ruin the experience for me because I hit gold when I created this next recipe.  Love Oreo biscuits?  Well maybe you did in a former life before we all jumped on board a healthy living choo choo train of detoxifying and alkalising goodness. Well check out this healthy version of an Oreo biscuit’.

You will need:

Biscuit

1/2 cup Raw Almonds (soaked for 2 hours)

1 cup rolled oats or quinoa flakes

6 fresh Medjool dates, pitted

1 tsp vanilla powder

1 tbsp water (if needed)

2 tbsp Raw Cacao Powder

Filling

1 cup Raw Cashews (soaked for 2 hours)

1 tbsp Maple Syrup

1 tbsp Coconut Oil, melted

1 frozen banana

2 tbsp Super Greens Reds

And then:

For the biscuits:

Add all biscuit ingredients into blender, except water and pulse it until into forms a sticky dough (add the water if mixture is too dry). Place the dough on a sheet of baking powder and cover with another sheet of baking paper. Gently roll the dough out until it is about 1/2cm thick. Using a circular cookie cutter, cut the dough into the biscuit shapes and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Make about 16 biscuit shapes, size approximately 5cm diameter. Place the tray in the fridge for 1 hour.

For the filling:

Add all the filling ingredients into a blender and mix until it is thick and creamy

To assemble:

To assemble the biscuits take 1 of the biscuit bases and spoon about 1 tsp of filling onto it and then gently press another biscuit on top to create a creamy biscuit. Continue until you have made about 8 biscuits. Place in the fridge in an air tight container and enjoy with a cup of tea or super juice!
