Lanolin MIT CMIT

Allowed with limits

Some ingredients aren’t an automatic “no” for us—however we apply strict limits, exclusions for certain groups, and clear product labelling.

Phenoxyethanol

Allowed at ≤1% in leave‑on; clearly disclosed on PDPs. Excluded from “pregnancy‑safe” where relevant.

Silicones

Cyclic silicones banned. Linear silicones (e.g., dimethicone) permitted in rinse‑off only and clearly labelled.

Fragrance policy

No generic “fragrance/parfum” that hides composition. We prioritise fragrance‑free or essential‑oil‑only formulas and require disclosure of known fragrance allergens. Phthalates are not permitted.

Pregnancy, baby and sensitive‑skin standards

Pregnancy‑safe: no retinoids, no high‑dose acids, prefer mineral‑only sunscreens, limit essential oils. Products meeting this bar are labelled “Pregnancy‑safe.”

Baby‑safe (0–24 months): ultra‑gentle surfactants, no strong acids, no synthetic fragrance, very low/none essential oils. Labelled “Baby‑safe.”

Sensitive/eczema‑prone: we prioritise fragrance‑free and highlight potential allergens; look for “Sensitive‑skin friendly.”

Palm‑oil stance

We prefer palm‑oil‑free products. Where palm‑derived inputs are used, we require responsible sourcing and clear labelling.

How we vet products
  • Ingredient review against our No List and limits
  • Brand disclosures (e.g., mica sourcing, palm statements, cruelty‑free verification)
  • Suitability checks for pregnancy/baby/sensitive claims
  • Ongoing audits when formulas change
